Plans and Pricing

UrbanMetrix pricing combines an annual subscription with usage measured in cubic metres (m³).

An active subscription is required to create, process or work on a project. Each plan determines:

• The maximum volume of an individual project site
• The amount of m³ granted each year with the subscription
• The available storage, users and product features

At the beginning of each billing year, the included annual m³ are added to your account balance. Each new project deducts m³ from this balance according to the volume of its site.

Unused m³ included with your annual plan do not expire and get added to those of the next year.

You can purchase additional m³ at any time, starting from 10’000 m³. Purchased top-up m³ are added to your account balance and do not expire.

Volume discounts apply to larger top-up packages:

• 10’000 m³: standard price
• 20’000 m³: 10% discount
• 50’000 m³: 20% discount
• 100’000 m³: 30% discount
• 200’000 m³: 40% discount
• More than 200’000 m³: custom discount on request

Top-ups increase your available m³ balance, allowing you to start multiple projects within your current balance and plan’s limits. They do not increase the maximum size of the volume of a site, for this purpose you need to upgrade to a higher plan.

An active subscription is required to use the purchased m³. If your subscription becomes inactive, your purchased m³ remain in your account but cannot be used until an eligible subscription is reactivated.

Your plan determines the maximum site volume that can be processed as a single project.

For example, a plan with a maximum project size of 50’000 m³ can be used for any individual project of up to a size of 50’000 m³. Purchasing additional m³ allows you to process more projects, but does not allow an individual project to exceed this limit.

To process a larger individual site, you must upgrade to a plan with a higher maximum project volume. Upgrading immediately starts a new annual billing cycle and grants additional m3 to your balance according to the new plan.

Project consumption is based on the volume of the project site.

The project’s estimated site volume and corresponding m³ consumption is displayed before processing is confirmed.

Data gathering, environmental simulations and visualization are included in the project’s m³ consumption. There is no separate processing charge for these services if the geodata and simulation use stays within the standard project limits.

Each project includes:

• The gathering of up to 30 geodatas.
• The execution of up to 300 simulations.
• A maximum Sensor Point grid resolution of 1 meter.

The site volume is discretized into a three-dimensional grid of Sensor Points. UrbanMetrix computes the selected environmental simulations for each of these Sensor Points.

The 1-meter resolution value represents the highest available Sensor Point resolution.

If necessary standard project limits can be lifted using additional m3.

Projects requiring additional geodata or simulations beyond standard project limits of 30 geodatas and 300 simulations can use the extended-processing option.

Extended processing provides up to:

• 60 geodata datasets
• 600 simulations

A project using extended processing consumes m³ at twice the standard rate. For example, a site volume of 20’000 m³ would deduct an additional amount of 20’000 m³ from the account balance when extended processing is enabled. Further incremental extension are possible with additional usage of m³.

The plan’s maximum individual project size limit continues to apply. Extended processing increases the amount of geodata and simulations available; it does not allow a larger site volume.

UrbanMetrix projects are currently available for sites located in Switzerland. The extension in additional countries is planned for 2027.

You can try most features of the visualizer in the interactive demo on our website. Try Now. Additional features can be in our User Guide that is accessible without an account. There will be soon the possibility to register a user account and experiment all features on the demo projects also from the web-app. A free trial version that you can use on your own projects is not available, but you can subscribe to a basic plan with one project for a minimal fee to test the tool on your project and then upgrade to more m³ or more projects at any time. The unused parts of the previous plan will be discounted.

If you register as a user you can create an organization (company, institute, or individual) and subscribe to a plan for that organization. Each plan has a max number of active users. New users can be invited to join the organization by the organization owner. At any time you can delete and invite other users. If you need to add more users you can upgrade to a higher plan. 

Yes, plan updates that involve increasing the number of m³ are enacted instantaneously restarting the yearly subscription cycle and applying a discount on the unused part of the previous plan. Plan updates that involve decreasing the number of m³ , or plan cancellations, can be requested at any time but will be enacted at the end of the current subscription cycle without refund.

Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, AmEx, etc.) and other payment systems like Klarna, Amazon, Link and more are available. Billing is annual and in advance.
