In different situations the shape of one of more buildings could be already defined:

The building is already existing.

The future building massing is highly constrained by boundaries and regulation.

A first building shape idea emerged from the empty site analysis.
In all of these cases you can enter in Geodata Edit mode and draw the project sketch, or create or clone a new Gird, and import a simplified shape of the Project Sketch as OBJ file. Running Simulations with the Project Sketch inside the site will take into account the self-obstruction. The important advantage offered by UrbanMetrix compered to other tools is having the position and direction of the environmental resources disconnected form the shape of the Project Sketch.
This will allow you to use the data to locate and orient components such as the main openings, balconies, shadings, PV panels and more in an informed way.
To analyze the building surfaces in the visualizer you can follow a very similar process as the one to Analyze Empty-Sites using features like Threshold, Map, PoV, etc. In addition the following filters can be specifically useful:

Close To Project: to analyze the sensor points close to the building using Walls, Roof and Edges options.
- Map: to re-apply the color-mapping to the reduced number of previously filtered Sensor Points.
