Define the Position and Shape of Buildings

UrbanMetrix can be sued to define the smart position and shape of single or multiple buildings in relation to different single or combined criteria like for example:

  • Seek winter solar heat

  • Avoid summer solar heat

  • Reduce summer cooling demand with airflow

  • Seek solar access (e.g. morning and evening for residential uses)

  • Seek views on open space or specific targets

  • Seek silence

For this purpose you can use the filters Threshold (count level), Average (column). Succesisvely, you can add unfiltered selected Data Layers to the Mixer to combine them and you can apply the Threshold and No Overhang filters to the mixed layer. Then change the Weights of each Layer to verify how this affects the position and shape of the building.
